/30. He and the cast of Suicide Squad have needed an on set therapist. One theory surrounding Heath Ledger's death from an overdose in 2008 is that getting into the mind of The Joker may have somehow led to that happening. There's no evidence to suggest that was the case, but it's a valid enough theory based on some of the claims which have been made about the way he committed to the role in such an extreme way. Possibly fearful of something like that happening again, Warner Bros. has hired an on-set therapist/life coach to help the cast of Suicide Squad deal with the dark paths their respective roles are taking them down, and you have to believe that Leto will have paid them at least a few visits.

/30. Jared Leto's net worth is $40 million.

/30. His first role was followed by a role opposite Claire Danes in the TV series "My So-Called Life" (1995). Leto's character was Jordan Catalano, the handsome, dyslexic slacker, but also the main love interest of Angela (played by Claire Danes). Leto contributed to the soundtrack of the film, and so impressed the producers initially that he was soon a regular on the show until its end.

/30. According to a number of different actors starring alongside Jared Leto in "Suicide Squad," he's stayed in character throughout shooting. This type of method acting isn't really all that strange, but to stay in character as someone so utterly deranged and evil as The Joker can't be easy for either Leto or his co-stars, a fact pointed out by Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) in a recent interview. He confirmed that since filming began, he hasn't once seen Leto out of character, meaning that he's obviously been left very isolated as he gives his all to transform himself into the iconic Batman villain.

/30. For most of his shows with 30 Seconds To Mars, he uses one of two custom-made McSwain guitars. They're both engraved with the image of a gryphon drawn by Jared himself.

/30. In March 2014, Jared Leto won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the movie "Dallas Buyers Club."

/30. It turns out that Leto sent each of his fellow cast members a letter in character, but also a video explaining why and apologizing for the fact he couldn't be around them during early rehearsals. He sent Will Smith (Deadshot) a rather ominous gift in the form of some bullets, and gave the rest of the actors who make up Task Force X a dead pig. That does actually sound like the kind of thing The Joker would do, but what a bizarre way to greet the other actors working on the movie. Leto did however also include a video of himself in character as The Joker, and it's been said that it literally blew them all away. The simple fact that he wouldn't meet with the cast and decided to send them such bizarre and borderline disgusting presents offers surely some sort of indication about how he's approaching the role.

/30. One of the most twisted and interesting rumours surrounding Letos version of The Joker is the fact that this version will have a history with Batman very similar to his comic book counterpart. Specifically, that's in relation to Jason Todd (Robin), who he beat to within an inch of his life with a crowbar, and then left him to die in a warehouse explosion. It was one of the most shocking and dark moments in Batman history. How much of Robin's murder they'll show remains to be seen (it could just be implied), but with the Clown Prince of Crime believed to be responsible for the death of him and Commissioner Jim Gordon, it should be clear from the very start that this is one Joker who should most definitely be taken seriously and feared.

/30. He turned down a key role in "Flags of Our Fathers" (2006) in order to commit his time to his band, 30 Seconds to Mars.

/30. Had a part in "Phone Booth" (2002) which was eventually deleted from the theatrical cut of the movie.
