Winona Sioux Christnot-Peters is a writer/web designer and aspiring librarian based in Northern Maine. There's pretty strong societal pressure that the man is who is supposed to propose in a heterosexual relationship, but sometimes that's not what happens. There are plenty of assertive women who have no problem being the one to bring up the subject of marriage, and the one to propose.
People like to try to help; they want to feel useful, and show gratitude to those who have helped them. Sometimes that "helping" turns out to be the exact opposite though, and it makes the job that much harder than it would have been in the first place.
