10 People Shared The One Little Habit They Adopted That Drastically Changed Their Life.

Thanks to the fine folks on Quora who have shared some of their incredibly helpful habits with us. Hopefully one of these could improve your life!

1/10. This literally changed my life.

My password at the company's corporate account has to be updated every month, so I use that chance to set a reminder to myself of things I want to achieve that month. Some examples would be:

- Save4trip@Thailand

- Eat2times@day

- Facetime2mom@sunday

If you write these 'statements' several times a day/week and if you play it right, it makes a HUGE difference. Try it!

2/10. Drink at least one green smoothie daily.

Avoid processed foods. I know, it's tough. I love cereal, chicken nuggets, burgers, pizza, salami and soda just like 90% of the world out there. I literally used to eat 30 chicken nuggets in one sitting as a kid.

Sure, it tasted awesome in the moment. But I always felt pretty lethargic afterwards.

In the last 3 years, I've slowly replaced processed foods with natural, whole foods like fruits and vegetables. Today, I'm in the best shape of my life.

Here's how I did it ...I started off by replacing one meal (breakfast) with a vegetable and fruit smoothie. It tasted awful the first few weeks. But after experimenting with different recipes and through repetition, it started to taste normal. Soon, it began to taste delicious. Now I can't live without it. I literally drink on average 3-4 vegetable and fruit smoothies in a day.

Treat your body well. It's the only one you've got.

3/10. For Men: Take your wallet out of your back pocket. Put it in your jacket pocket or somewhere else.

Mens wallets are causing men a lot of pain - and its not because theyre empty! There is a huge surge in the number of men who complain of lower back pain and their wallets are the reason why.

Over time, the wallet pressing on nerves in the back can cause Sciatic Neuropathy (or Wallet neuropathy) which can lead to pain or numbness in the lower leg, ankle or foot. Walking, sitting and lying down can become extremely painful. (see Sciatica andPiriformis syndrome)

For Women: Keep your high heels for special occasions, and stick with lower heels for everyday use.

Women who habitually wear high heels are at risk for permanent physiological damage to their knees, hips, back and tendons. That's because high heels force the wearer to place all of her body weight on the ball of the foot, compromising stability. This, in turn, makes her compensate for the instability by pushing her knees and hips forward and arching her back - an unnatural posture.

4/10. Never read at your desktop.

Reading articles online distracted me from the real work I had to do. Creating and consuming are two incongruous acts that I believe require separation.

Therefore, I utilize several technologies (IFTTT, Pocket, Buffer, etc) to help me time shift how I consume things I read online.

5/10. Make time for friends and family weekly.

I'm actually bad at the family aspect of this, given that my family lives on the other side of the country but I generally manage to make time weekly for friends either through lunch meetings or over coffee. I run ideas by people mostly, but also get inspired by the ideas that get run by me. It also reinforces a feeling of gratefulness.

6/10. When you cook, prepare enough for 2 meals. You just saved several hours per week.

7/10. I always like to look to the people who were highly productive before it was en vogue.

Benjamin Franklin had a carefully structured day. According to his own recorded daily routine, he would rise at 5 a.m. For the first three hours, he would plan his day, wash, eat, dress and ask himself this question: What good shall I do this day? From 8-11, he would work, followed by a two-hour break for lunch, reading or reviewing his accounts. Again, from 2-5, he would go back to work. The final four hours of his day was for dinner, company, picking up, and music or other entertainment. In this last part of his work day, he asked the question: What good have I done to-day? His day would end at 10 p.m.

8/10. Walk. Sweet and simple, walk.

I see people, even for a short distance, they need a two-wheeler or an auto/cab. Why? Why not give yourself a small exercise. The benefits of walking are manifold. A healthy body, a clear and higher functioning mind, less stress, reduced risks of cancer, hypertension, and diabetes, increased sexual health.

9/10. Drink a liter of water upon rising.

Most people are under-energized because theyre under-hydrated. Hydration is energy. Keep a liter of water at your bedside table before bed, and crush it immediately upon rising.

Also, Get grateful.

If you feel sad, if you feel like you dont have enough of something; STOP and think of three things youre grateful for. Youll immediately feel better, I promise.

10. Write "Thank you" instead of "Sincerely" or "Best regards" at the end of each e-mail.

It is never enough to say 'Thank you' to other people, they tend to forget if they receive a favor, or help. By saying 'Thank you' more frequently, your relationships with others will improve dramatically.
